The physical method of glass tempering equipment uses the technique of heating the flat glass and then rapidly cooling it, causing compressive stress on the surface layer of the cooled glass and tensile stress within the interior of the glass, thereby achieving the purpose of enhancing the strength of the glass and transforming ordinary annealed glass into tempered glass. Since this type of tempering method does not alter the chemical composition of the glass, it is called a physical method of glass tempering equipment. If classified according to the heating characteristics of the equipment, this device can be divided into forced convection heating tempering equipment and radiant heating tempering equipment; if classified according to the structural and functional characteristics of the equipment, it can be divided into combined tempering equipment, flat tempering equipment, curved tempering glass equipment, continuous tempering equipment, bidirectional tempering equipment, suspended furnaces, etc. 

Chemical tempering equipment enhances the strength of glass by altering its surface chemical composition. Currently, methods such as surface dealkalization and alkali metal ion exchange are employed. Since this type of tempering method modifies the chemical composition of the glass, it is referred to as chemical glass tempering equipment.
